Frequently Asked Questions

How do I care for my jewelry?

For the longevity of your new Desert Moon and Gem piece, we recommend keeping your jewelry away from any moisture or lotions, perfumes or skincare products, avoiding bathing or swimming while wearing your jewelry. 


Tarnishing/oxidation can naturally occur with wear. If this happens, wipe gently with a jewelry polishing cloth. Do not use a cleaning solution as it can cause damage to natural stones or cording/tassels.

How do I care for my crystals/minerals?

Some minerals will dissolve in water....most crystals ending in "ite"-like... Selenite, Kyanite etc. Other crystals like Pyrite contain Iron and may rust. For these extra sensitive crystal babies, cleanse under moonlight or with a smudge stick. Wipe gently with a soft cloth to clean the surface of polished stones. Mineral specimens can be stored in a bag or box to keep free of dust.

When will I receive my package?

We ship packages Monday through Friday. We do not ship on the weekends or holidays. We require 1-3 days processing time depending on the size of orders, longer for custom mala beads. Normally it is 2-5 business days for shipping domestic, 12+ business days for International packages. Due to recent staffing and postal issues globally, there may be a delay in the advertised time from USPS...this unfortunately is outside my control. 

Do you offer local pickup?

Yes! If you would like to pick up in the Scottsdale area, select local pickup at checkout.


Computer monitors have a wide variety of settings.  We make every effort to post photos that accurately represent the color and detail of my jewelry and minerals. But, please understand that there may appear to be some be some color variation between the actual product and the photos on your monitor. We strive towards making sure photos accurately represent the subject in real life!!

Returns and Exchanges


We want you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase. Please let us know if there is an issue within 5 days of receipt of your order! Due to the personal nature of some items like facial rollers or earrings, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges.

For anything else, please contact us within 5 days of receipt of your order with your concerns and we will provide instructions to return your purchase.  Buyer is responsible for return shipping fees.. Original shipping fees paid are not refundable. Items must be returned unused, in original condition, with original packaging and tags attached to qualify. If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your original payment method. Payment originally made through Paypal,  Sezzle or other third party involve a transaction fee. This fee will be deducted from the refund amount to cover the cost of fees paid by Desert Moon and Gem.

Damaged Packages


Items are packaged with great care. Desert Moon and Gem is not responsible for packages and how they are handled by mail carriers once they are shipped. If you are concerned, we highly recommend purchasing insurance. Please let us know prior to ordering! Malas include insurance in the purchase price.

Stolen Packages

DMG is not responsible for stolen packages. If you would like to sign for your package, please let us know prior to checkout, and we will add the current USPS list price for signature service before checking out.

Incorrect Address

Please ensure that your address is correct during checkout. DMG is not responsible for items sent to incorrect addresses. Please contact us immediately if you accidentally provide the wrong address. If the order DOES ship to the wrong address, please contact your local post office to see how they can help. If your package ends up "return to sender" and back at DMG studio, the buyer is responsible for paying shipping fees to re-send it.
